Teach Yourself French
Ever woke up one day and said, I want to learn how to speak French? Because of my weird dream the night before, I woke up wanting to learn French. I was hanging out in France by myself. I was in a bar trying to order a drink from a bartender and he threw a glass at me! I think I said something that sounded like he was ugly. Anyways, when I woke up, I wanted to speak French. So I did some research, how hard is it to learn a new language?
First, the older a person is, the harder it is. This is because the brain activity decreases with age, being the best when you are young. Children pick up languages like nothing else, because their brain activity is off the charts. Sorry grandma, but you are going to have a hard time learning how to speak a new language. So what can someone like me do?
There are many alternatives to learn a language instead of taking a class or hiring a tutor. You’ll find that most programs are junk. Try picking up an English to French dictionary and learning from that. And audio lessons are perfect for people who need to be prescribed sleeping medication. I found that the best way to learn a language is to hit all 3 senses, audio, video and interaction. This way you can actually remember the lessons. Most of these programs include little review games to help your memory, this definitely helps.
One of the best and moderately priced learn a language at home programs on the market today is Rocket French by Marie-Claire Riviere. It’s all online based, so you can access it anywhere. The lessons are very easy to follow and feature an actual French native. This way you will be getting a proper lesson in dialect and up to date terms so you don’t say something wrong in France. Anyways, take a minute and read the Rocket French review. Hopefully you have better luck than me in learning to speak French!
